Lord of the flies

All was lost in the last few chapters from the death of Simon to the death of Piggy. The conch which symbolises order was shattered with Piggy symbolizing all order is lost on this island. Even the once tropical scenery changes into a dark evil shadow looming over this Hell, the fruits were even described as skulls which so happens the Lord of the flies has turned into a skull. The only loyal ones to Ralph left were Samineric. The ending though ended magnificently with the rescue of the children. The prediction by Simon came true Ralph will come out of the island all right.

William Golding message

The message the author is trying to convey is that we all have that "savage" deep within our self. He expresses this thought in the story by using children, for him to use children is very interesting because when one thinks of children they think innocent humans who don't have the capability of actual murder, humans who just want to be happy. So using children expresses his thought even further because it shows that even the most innocent can turn into savages. These children were middle class children who were just on there way home to visit there parents, just like a child may go home to visit there parents. When there plane was shot down and crashed on an unknown island they coped we'll in the beginning. The children chose a chief (Ralph), planned to make a fire as a signal for rescue, build shelters and have hunters hunt for meat. Later on in the story a littlun talks about his dream of a beast. This leads to a controversy that there actually may be a beast far out in the forest of the island, Ralph as the chief tries to calm every down by saying that there is not an actual beast on the island but that doesn't prevent there minds from wandering. Jacks group the hunters, eventually get there first kill. Jack expresses his excitement of the kill by talking about how he sliced the pigs throat and so much blood spilled out. Unfortunate in order for this kill to happen Jack had to take extra people to go, including the ... ( Not finished)

Jack is a very ignorant person. He only wants the best for himself and wants to be looked at as a hero. Jack is blood thirsty and he always wants to hunt. When Jack makes a kill, they always have a feast and it's most likely because he wants praise and he wants to be the chief. Because Ralph never gave up his position, Jack decided to start his own tribe. Almost all of the boys went with him. All Ralph could provide them with was the fire but he could barely do that because there wasn't enough people to watch it and make sure it does not go out. Jack needed the fire, he decided to steal it from Ralph because nobody wanted to make a compromise. They got into a mild war and left. When Ralph went to his side of the island, he forcefully brought Samneric over to his side. He had his hunters tie them up. Now Ralph has useless Piggy. However, Roger killed Piggy. He let the rock fall on him. Now Ralph is alone, he has no where to go. His best option is to join Jack. After Piggy lay dead with his head cracked open Roger felt a sense of empowerment. He walked by the chief barely pushing him. This shows that Roger feels like Jack when he used to be one rank below Ralph. He wantd to shove him, but fright took him at the last minute.
In chapter twelve, I think that Jack is going to die and Roger will become chief and everything will perish!

Civilization vs. Savagery

Ralph, the protagonist of Lord of The Flies, happens to get into a huge conflict between himself and Jack, the antagonist. Ralph is the one who tries to keep order between everyone while Jack focuses on hunting. Since Jack is denied the leadership role he decides to create his own tribe and hunt in the daylight and have feasts in the night. Jack rises up as Ralph is put down. Ralph is no longer considered the leader and Jack, the savage, becomes the new leader. Ralph does consider joining Jacks tribe, only to save his life. Ralph tries not to let the inner savage release but once in a while it does. "Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!"(152). Ralph gets caught up in the frenzy and starts chanting “Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!"(152). Ralph and the others are mindless and take part in the killing of Simon, mistaken as the beast. Ralph knows what he did was wrong and changes his mindset once again. Ralph then becomes the civilized leader he was known to be. Ralph switches in and out of the savagery but does not get completely taken over by it. What will Ralph do next? With his friend Piggy and Simon dead because he unsuccessful at leading the group properly. Will he attempt to join Jacks tribe? Or fight against it? Will Jack continue his savagery? Since the conch has been destroyed, order has been broken. So it looks like there is no hope in regaining civilization

The lord of the Flies

The Lord of the Flies, is a novel that occurs during the time of war. The main characters are Piggy and Ralph. On their journey, their plane is shot down. On this plane were boys of all ages. The plane crashes on an island where there are no adults and the pilot is gone. There is some controversy whether or not they will be rescued. I actually do not think they will survive. As children you need guidance and if you do not have that, there is chaos. Also we find that there is an atomic bomb. When an atomic bomb occurs it kills everything in its way. Thus the airport in which they are coming from will not know that these kids are suffering on the island; They're dead. Ralph claims that his dad is in the army and once he notices that his son did reach land he'll go out and look for him and rescue them all. In the beginning when Piggy finds a conch, Ralph blows the conch to let the kids know that they are not alone. Once everyone is gathered around Ralph seems to have took the intuitive and lead the new settlers of the island. Some of the boys help do work. Others like the youngsters take this time as an adventure, even though they no there is dangers all around them. There seems to be some tension rising up between Piggy and Ralph; Piggy feels under appreciated by Ralph, and Ralph complains that he's the only one hard at work to Jack. I predict that they will get found eventually but unexpectedly. They are going to be on this island for a long time.

The Beast From The Air

Through out the course of the story a dead pilot attached to parachute descends from the sky, after having its plane shot at with a missile. This happens at night while all the boys are asleep. While falling the parachute attached to the dead body gets caught in some trees far through the mountain. The first to see this are the twins because they are the ones on duty of the fire at the time, but because it was just early morning they did not see it properly and thought it was the beast. The twins run off to tell Ralph and the others of there sightings. As a result of this news, Ralph, Jack and the other hunters set off into the mountain to hunt the beast and kill it. As they arrive at the scene of the fallen dead pilot at night, they too set of running believing that it is the beast. The dead pilot is the starter off of the many situations that occur further on in the story. Its one of the reasons why Jack seprates himself from the group.

Ralph, Jack, and some other boys were looking for the beast even though some of them don't believe it exists. A few of the younger kids claimed they saw the beast around the forest. "We've seen the beast with our own eyes. No-we weren't asleep-" "It was furry. There was something moving behind its head-wings. The beast moved too-" ( Golding, 100). However the beast isn't really a beast. Someone landed into the island from a plane in a parachute. "There was a speck above the island, a figure dropping swiftly beneath a parachute, a figure that hung with dangling limbs. The changing winds of various altitudes took the figure where they would" ( Golding, 95). So the younger children have mistaken the figure in the parachute for a beast. They said something was moving behind its head and they thought it was wings, but it really was the parachute that hung behind its back which made it move around.
