On a non-inhabited island there is a group of military boys ranging from ages 4-13, this island was an Eden for them. It was clean,calm,sunny and peaceful but the first mistake they made was letting the littluns eat the fruit just like Eve in the story of Eden. The conch represents order, the order of God and the prophet in this story is Piggy a fat, ugly, smart boy who no one listens to. Now lets get back to Garden of Eden, a beast appears in Paradise and first expresses his self as a snake and it so happens one of Saitens forms is a snake. The reality of this demonic creature sends the littluns in blind fear of what goes bump in the night. The second appearance of the Beast at fist said on page 95 as a sign from grown ups a corpse known as "The figure" or "The beast" to the boys. If my interpretation is correct this is a sign that death looms over the island in a chilly and violent way. Simon, in my opinion the Christ figure in this Novel says to Ralph on page 111 "No, i'm not. I just "think you'll get back all right", this is a prediction that Ralph will survive this turning hell but others may not. Then there is savagery looming in this island starting with the simple opinion"we need meat" by Jack Merridew.Who knows what may happen next we should just read on.
